The full leaf scene depicts a night on the outskirts of a town. Sun and fountain-shaped fireworks are being admired by a family in the foreground dressed in period style clothing while a crowd of townsfolk are barely distinguishable on the left and right. The edges of the fan are highlighted with gold garland and leaf decorations.
On the back there is a night time marsh landscape with roman ruins.
The mother of pearl gold damascened sticks are covered in bronze with coloured rhinestones on the guardsticks.
